Simple Things To Do To Reduce Stress

Here are 3 things to do to reduce stress, almost immediately. If that’s what you’re looking for, then keep reading. In this article, we’ll go over three simple strategies you can start applying to relieve stress.

Do them consistently, and you’ll have a better chance of feeling calmer and more refreshed.

The strategies I’m about to suggest are some of the most common and logical things you can do to relieve stress.

Of course, it should go without saying that if you feel you’re having severe reactions to stress, you should see a physician. With that said, let’s get into the strategies shall we…

Take Deep Breaths – one of the best ways to reduce stress is to breathe. It’s also something that you can do anytime, anywhere, no matter what’s going on around you.

Now, of course I’m not referring to the breathing that you’ve been doing all your life. I’m suggesting a breathing technique, here. Breathing calms you down and takes your mind off the things that stress you out.

There are different variations of breathing techniques, but here’s a simple one.

While sitting up straight, take in a slow deep breath. Hold for a count of 2. Then let the air out slowly and completely. Notice your breathing, and let all other thoughts float away as you exhale. Repeat 10-12 times, or more, if necessary.

Know your Triggers – Recognizing which things get under your skin, is an important step. Why? Because then you’re aware of it, and can do something about it, instead of unconsciously reacting the same way.

When you’re aware of what sets you off, you can then cut down or avoid exposure to those things if applicable.

Talk to Someone – Do you have a friend or family member that always makes you laugh, or feel good after you talk to them?

There’s almost always a person in everyone’s life that is either funny for no reason, or exudes good positive energy. That’s what you’re after.

So, when I suggest talking to someone, I don’t mean talk to them about what stresses you. That just keeps you focused on the stress.

Instead, talk to them about anything but that. Anything that makes you laugh and gets you in a positive frame of mind, produces good energy and allows you to be the real you. In time, the stress diminishes, and you feel better afterward.
